Codetheory developed a brand new Youtube Gadget to the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.
Main goal was to create a modern looking, eye-catching Gadget to Youtube with a purpose to show the most important videos of Cancer Research in a beautiful, well categorized layout.
Used CSS3 with SCSS & SASS for responsiveness and smooth animations , HTML5 markup, jQuery for animation fallbacks, handling the Youtube API, gathering videos & appropriate thumbnails, handling sliders / carousels in case of more videos to fit them in sections.
This Youtube gadget was really a challange, as it is IFRAMED in into Youtube, I had to handle the iframe height on every accordion opening/closing from INSIDE the iframe, NOT to talk about vertically centering the popup lightbox relatively to parent page, that plays the videos. I’ve been able to send out JSON data to Youtube, then it refreshes Iframe after every data sent.
